These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) set out the rules for using the My Local Awards website (mylocalawards.co.uk) and for participation in any awards programmes or events organised by us. By accessing our website, submitting a nomination, voting, or attending an event, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree, you must not use our website or participate in our awards.

1. Who we are

“My Local Awards” is operated by Marketic, Unit 106631, PO Box 4336, Manchester, M61 0BW, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”, “our”).

We trade as My Local Awards (not a limited company). These Terms apply to all activities we run under the My Local Awards brand, both online and offline.

2. Eligibility & Nominations

Nominations may be made by us directly, by members of the public, or by businesses themselves.
Businesses of any size may be nominated free of charge.
There are currently no age restrictions for nominators or voters, but we may apply minimum age requirements in future.
Businesses may nominate themselves.
Entry is free. Winners are not required to make any payment to be recognised as a winner. We may offer optional winners packages which winners can choose to purchase (see Sections 4–6), but purchase is not required to win.

3. Voting Rules

Each person may vote for multiple different businesses, but may only cast one verified vote per business.
All votes must be verified by a one-time passcode (OTP) sent to the voter’s email address. Duplicate or multiple votes for the same business from the same email address are automatically discarded.
We monitor for and block suspicious or fraudulent voting activity, including automated or mass submissions.
We reserve the right to void any votes we believe to be invalid, fraudulent, or against the spirit of fair competition.
Winners are determined solely by the number of valid public votes as verified by us.
All vote counts are final and cannot be appealed.

4. Winner Recognition & Optional Winners Packages (Winners Only)

If you win, you will be notified by email (and we may attempt to contact you by telephone if needed).
No payment is required to accept, retain, or be recognised as a winner.
We may offer optional winners packages at different price points. These packages are optional and do not have to be purchased in order to win or to remain a winner.
If you choose to purchase an optional winners package, full package details (including what is included) are available on the winners packages page for the relevant awards location. This can be found via the drop-down menu on our website for each location.
Where a card payment is made and the transaction is successful, you will receive the items and services described for the selected package on the relevant winners packages page at the time of purchase.

5. Delivery & Fulfilment of Optional Winners Packages

If a winner purchases an optional winners package, fulfilment will be provided in line with what is described on the winners packages page for the relevant location at the time of purchase.

Package benefits and delivery timelines may vary by location and by the specific package selected, and may be as stated on the winners packages page or email confirmation at the time of purchase.
You are responsible for ensuring that the business details and delivery information you provide are accurate. We are not responsible for delays or losses caused by incorrect details supplied by you.
Where a package includes physical items, reasonable wear to packaging in transit does not affect the validity of the item(s).

Winning an award does not automatically entitle you to any physical or digital items unless you have chosen to purchase an optional winners package that includes them, as described on the winners packages page for the relevant location.

6. Optional Extras

We may offer optional extras from time to time (for example additional items or upgrades). These are separate from winning and are optional.
Optional extras do not affect winner recognition and are not required to be recognised as a winner.
All optional winners packages and optional extras are custom-made and non-refundable once ordered. (This does not affect your statutory rights.)

7. Refunds, Withdrawal & Conduct

Payments for optional winners packages and optional extras are non-refundable once ordered. This does not affect your statutory rights.
If, after winning, a winner engages in conduct that, in our reasonable opinion, damages the reputation of the awards or the Organizer, we reserve the right to withdraw their winner status. In such cases, any optional purchases already made may still be fulfilled (or not) depending on production status and our statutory obligations.
We reserve the right to remove or exclude any nominee, finalist or winner where we reasonably believe there has been fraud, misrepresentation, vote manipulation, or a breach of these Terms.

8. Use of Names, Logos & Publicity; Licence to Use Award Assets

By entering, finalists and winners grant us a non-exclusive right to use their name, logo, website and promotional materials in publicity, marketing, press releases and future awards promotion.
Where we provide award logos, digital badges or other award assets (for example as part of an optional winners package), winners are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use those assets, subject to our brand guidelines.
Award logos, badges, certificates and related assets must not be altered in any way, including (without limitation) year, location or design.
We may revoke the licence and/or withdraw winner status for misuse, breach of the brand guidelines, or breach of these Terms.

9. Events

We may host award ceremonies or related events.
If you purchase tickets, refunds are only offered if we cancel the event. We do not provide refunds for any other reason (e.g. change of personal circumstances).
By attending our events, you agree that we may photograph, film and record the event and use this material in publicity and marketing. Attendance is taken as consent to such recording.

10. Sponsorships & Partners

We may accept sponsorships or partnerships.
All sponsorships will be fairly declared and displayed.
Sponsors have no influence on nominations, voting or results.

11. Data Protection

We handle all personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
All data processing, storage and voting/nominations take place in the United Kingdom.
We do not transfer your personal data outside the UK.

12. Intellectual Property (general)

All content on our website and in our awards (logos, graphics, designs, text) is owned by us or licensed to us.
You may not copy, reproduce or use our intellectual property without prior written permission, except where expressly allowed in these Terms (including the licence in Section 8).

13. Liability & Disclaimers

Results of the awards are final and not open to appeal.
We are not responsible for any losses, reputational harm, or damages suffered by nominees, finalists or winners arising from participation in the awards.
We are not liable for technical failures, interruptions, or errors affecting nominations, voting, or website availability.
Cap on liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with the awards or these Terms shall be limited to the total amount of fees you have actually paid to us (including any optional winners packages and optional extras).
Statutory carve-outs: Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

14. Force Majeure

We will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform any obligation under these Terms where the delay or failure results from events, circumstances or causes beyond our reasonable control, including (without limitation) acts of God, natural disasters, epidemics, strikes or industrial action, failures of third-party services, cyber-attacks, power or internet outages, or governmental actions.

15. Notices & Communications

We will notify winners primarily by email using the contact details provided; where possible, we may also attempt contact by telephone.
If emails bounce, or if no response is received within a reasonable period, we may make reasonable attempts to contact you using the details provided.
Notices are deemed received when sent to the most recent contact details you supplied.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updates will be posted on our website with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued participation in our awards or use of our website after changes take effect means you accept the new Terms.
